In Office desktop application, it allows sign in multiple personal account at same time, but only allow one work account from same tenant at a time. So if this user has already sign in another business work account, he will receive this error. If the user is trying to sign in multiple work accounts from the same tenant in the Office applications, he will receive this error message.

However, the local corrupted credential will cause this kind of issue in the Office. For me, the behavior is different. I can sign in to word for example with 5 accounts, all of which are from the same tenant.
